Some were being logged, and some weren't. Let's log them all
automatically when PARAM_DEPRECATED is processed, instead of requiring
each module to manually log them.

Adds the 'modules', 'jsconfigvars', and 'encodedjsconfigvars' props
to action=expandtemplates, that output the modules and Javascript
configuration variables added to ResourceLoader by extensions and
parser functions, in the same way action=parse does.
This is needed by Parsoid to correctly include all modules used by
parser functions.

New types 'text' and 'password' for where a <textarea> or
<input type="password"> would be preferred over <input type="text">.
Some timestamp parameters get actually tagged as 'timestamp'.
'submodule' types change the 'submodules' output property from a boolean
to an object indicating the mapping from values to module paths. And
they get an indication of the submodule parameter prefix (e.g.
generator's "g"), if applicable. "generator" actually gets reported as a
submodule type, using this new mechanism.
action=paraminfo will now indicate ApiBase::PARAM_RANGE_ENFORCE status,
and return better-formatted defaults for timestamps and booleans.

Nothing in this patch should result in changed output for format=json or
format=php except as noted in RELEASE-NOTES-1.25, and changed output for
format=xml should be similar or cosmetic. However, other code accessing
the result data directly may need to be updated.

ApiResult was a mess: some methods could only be used with an array
reference instead of manipulating the stored data, methods that had both
array-ref and internal-data versions had names that didn't at all
correspond, some methods that worked on an array reference were
annoyingly non-static, and then the whole mess with setIndexedTagName.
ApiFormatXml is also entirely annoying to deal with, as it liked to
throw exceptions if certain metadata wasn't provided that no other
formatter required. Its legacy also means we have this silly convention
of using empty-string rather than boolean true, annoying restrictions on
keys (leading to things that should be hashes being arrays of key-value
object instead), '*' used as a key all over the place, and so on.
So, changes here:
* ApiResult is no longer an ApiBase or a ContextSource.
* Wherever sensible, ApiResult provides a static method working on an
arrayref and a non-static method working on internal data.
* Metadata is now always added to ApiResult's internal data structure.
Formatters are responsible for stripping it if necessary. "raw mode"
is deprecated.
* New metadata to replace the '*' key, solve the array() => '[]' vs '{}'
question, and so on.
* New class for formatting warnings and errors using i18n messages, and
support for multiple errors and a more machine-readable format for
warnings. For the moment, though, the actual output will not be changing
yet (see T47843 for future plans).
* New formatversion parameter for format=json and format=php, to select
between BC mode and the modern output.
* In BC mode, booleans will be converted to empty-string presence style;
modules currently returning booleans will need to use
ApiResult::META_BC_BOOLS to preserve their current output.
Actual changes to the API modules' output (e.g. actually returning
booleans for the new formatversion) beyond the use of
ApiResult::setContentValue() are left for a future change.

helpful help, and a method to override the default description message
for the use of ApiDisabled and ApiQueryDisabled.

The format for 'props' was never specified and the list for 'errors' is
impossible to keep updated when considering that many errors come from
MediaWiki backend code and extension hook functions. And since there
doesn't seem to be any real use case for either of these, let's just
kill both of them instead of wasting effort on trying to fix them.
Note that neither getResultProperties nor getPossibleErrors are called
from any extensions in gerrit, and none of the other deprecated methods
are called outside of the implementations of those two methods. Removing
the obsolete methods is left to the maintainers of the extensions, as
keeping them hurts nothing and is needed to maintain compatibility with
earlier versions of MediaWiki.

The code added in Id12cbe4a is creating a frame from the parser object
before actually starting a parse, meaning the frame ends up with no
title, which causes problems for other stuff that assumes the frame
*does* have a title.
While we could possibly change from calling ->preprocess() to
->recursivePreprocess() to avoid re-starting the parse, there are some
hooks called from ->preprocess() that it's probably best to continue
calling to not break BC.

The preprocessor sometimes adds pages to categories itself, which don't
have any representation in the output of ApiExpandTemplates. Because of
this, add a new field containing these categories.

Most wikitext is safe to parse once and then cache for when that same
wikitext is used again, such as for multiple transclusions of the same
template within a page. There are occasions, though, where some piece of
wikitext has side effects and so should not be cached; a prominent
example of such wikitext is the <ref> and <references> tags in Cite.php.
This change adds PPFrame::setVolatile so parser hooks such as <ref> and
<references> can indicate that they have done something that should not
be cached, and PPFrame::isVolatile so that callers of PPFrame::expand
can know when to avoid caching.

See bug 44341 for action=parse, but the problem with interwiki
processing can also be happen in other modules.
This gives clearer error message on some modules
For example action=move:
Bad title "*title*"
instead of:
Unknown error: "immobile-target-namespace-iw"

simply calls their parent constructor. This patch removes all such

API was using SVN's version keyword which GIT does not support.
All related methods were either removed, or for those that
could have been used from extensions, emptied out.
api.php?version now shows unrecognized param warning.

Doxygen choke on text enclosed by '<' and '>' since it tries to
interpret them as HTML or XML elements. This patch adds double quotes
in includes/api/*.php files around the two following strings:
<Firstname>.<Lastname>@gmail.com
<Firstname><Lastname>@gmail.com
Which becomes:
"<Firstname>.<Lastname>@gmail.com"
"<Firstname><Lastname>@gmail.com"
Tested locally, it prevents doxygen 1.8.0 related warnings.

Added information about the properties of the results of API calls
to action=paraminfo, including information about "property groups":
what should the prop parameter be set to to get that property.
Uses the same format for types as parameters already do.
The output format of some modules doesn't fit this, so the result
properties for them weren't added, or only partially.
Partially implemented modules:
* expandtemplates:
parsetree is in its own tag
* protect, allusers, backlinks, deletedrevs, info, imageinfo,
logevents, querypage, recentchanges, revisions, searchinfo,
usercontribs, userinfo, users, watchlist, upload:
response with partially complex structure
Not implemented modules:
* feedcontributions, feedwatchlist, opensearch, rds:
non-standard reponse
* help:
error is normal response; not very useful for automated tools anyway
* paraminfo, parse, pageprops, siteinfo, userrights:
response with complex structure

It's a parctice that dates back to 2006 when the API was first written, and frankly isn't covered by the coding conventions. Same thing with the docblocks, they're all copypasted with some bits changed and don't even make sense if you look at them in the genereated code docs.
I don't feel that any of us depend on this anymore (get a better IDE), so in the inerest of consistancy it's time we said goodbye to it.
* Introduced a "cache mode" concept to simplify the header generation code, and to avoid odd results when conflicting cache header requests are received from submodules, or at least to formalise the handling of such cases.
* Made the cache mode private by default, so that code written in ignorance of caching tends to be safe. If different query modules are used in a single request, private caching is preferred over public caching.
* Removed the "must-revalidate" option from all CC headers, this is really specific to page views with a hacked squid in front, I don't think it's applicable here.
* Made the watchlist module private. This is really the definition of private data. There's nothing in the HTTP spec that says the URL for a CC:public request is private and can't be leaked. CC:private provides protection against unknown proxy behaviour.
* In ApiQueryAllmessages: avoid calling $wgLang->getCode() to check if it's necessary to make a new $wgLang when lang= is specified, since this is the only thing that unstubs $wgUser.
* Removed "FIXME: should this check $user instead of $wgUser?" Answer is no.

the rest of MW on principle, but I'm not gonna bother myself." --Roan

If you're seeing this commit in blames, tell your blame tool to ignore
whitespace, e.g., git blame -w or svn blame -x -w.
Doxygen documentation update:
* Changed alls @addtogroup to @ingroup. @addtogroup adds the comment to the group description, but doesn't add the file, class, function, ... to the group like @ingroup does. See for example http://svn.wikimedia.org/doc/group__SpecialPage.html where it's impossible to see related files, classes, ... that should belong to that group.
* Added @file to file description, it seems that it should be explicitely decalred for file descriptions, otherwise doxygen will think that the comment document the first class, variabled, function, ... that is in that file.
* Removed some empty comments
* Removed some ?>
Added following groups:
* ExternalStorage
* JobQueue
* MaintenanceLanguage
One more thing: there are still a lot of warnings when generating the doc.
