Added trim() call to work around mystery bug where whitespace gets appended to single or double-quoted string tokens; without it we ended up reading in the extra quote on the end as if it were part of the string.

Revert r55459, 55467, 55469, 55518 (Page creation notification email is sent when a watched page is deleted). Breaks current setups where enotif_body is customized. Sidenote: anyone looking to do this right should redo EmailNotification::notifyOnPageChange() to just use the params array from RC, rather than tacking more crap onto this function

Fix disabling of APC cache when loading message files: apc.enabled has been PHP_INI_SYSTEM since 3.0.13 but apc.cache_by_default works. This reduces the required APC cache space by about half on my test wiki, from 20MB to 10MB.

Fixes for r51204: removed useless $wgVariant and StubUserVariant. In Skin::makeGlobalVariablesScript(), use $wgContLang->getPreferredVariant() instead, which is the variant used in the relevant server-side code.

Removed StartProfiler.php from SVN control and added StartProfiler.sample file. The sample file can be moved to the former name to set profiling. MW will fall back to ProfilerStub.php as usual if there is no StartProfiler.php.
