Remaining are the classes containing underscores and possibly a few other
issues that will be addressed soonish.

Swapped some "$var type" to "type $var" or added missing types
before the $var. Changed some other types to match the more common
spelling. Makes beginning of some text in captial.
Also added some missing @param.

Makes checks against the fragment easier to read and all the same.
At the moment some using strval, some use type safe comparsion.

The Line continuation Coding conventions prefers the closing parenthesis
on the same line than the beginning curly braces. This is done for ifs
and functions.
Also move some boolean operator from the end of a line to the beginning
and changed some indentation to make the condition hopefully better
readable.

The parser unnecessarily made individual checks for existence of
pages that were neither in LinkCache nor linked only with a fragment.
A Title::isKnown() call in Parser::replaceInternalLinks2() (added in
bca8b8ad7d) caused this.
Title::isKnown() was used to avoid treating a link to a distinct page
as a self-link even when the title happened to match one of the variants
returned by Language::autoConvertToAllVariants(). This change fixes
the bug by moving the problematic portion of the self-link check into
LinkHolderArray::doVariants().

Doxygen expects parameter types to come before the
parameter name in @param tags. Used a quick regex
to switch everything around where possible. This
only fixes cases where a primitve variable (or a
primitive followed by other types) is the variable
type. Other cases will need to be fixed manually.

By the way the check $oldkey != $vardbk is unnecessary because
there's already $variant != $category check.

Currently a simple Title::exists() or Title::getArticleId() call on a
non-existent title can cause the title marked as redlinks in LinkCache,
even if a title in another variant exists. A visible appearance is that
the function refuses to try other variants of a link if the link has
already been checked by {{#ifexist:}}, which internally calls
$lang->findVariantLink() then $title->exists() is invoked.
$titlesToBeConverted is also tweaked to avoid the trailing "\0".

Fixed this by "abusing" of the $options parameter of Linker::link() to pass the Language object (as we did for wfMsgExt()), has the two following advantages:
* The tooltip is displayed in the requested language instead of depending on $wgLang
* The usage of the Language object is detected in the ParserOptions, thus the parser cache key will not have "*" for the language
* Fixed several obvious bugs in the $wgCiteCacheReferences helper functions, missed due to inadequate testing.
* Don't save complete Title objects to memcached, they contain cached data with a short lifetime.
* Fixed a doc comment.
* It was not necessary to preserve the $stripState->general->setPair() interface since it wasn't used by any extensions.
* Moved StripState to its own file.
* Refactored serialiseHalfParsedText() and unserialiseHalfParsedText() so that the bulk of the functionality is in the relevant modules, instead of using scary direct access to object member variables. Made it support the new StripState. It seemed like a lot of work to go to to support an "emergency optimisation" feature in Cite. Cite updates will be in a subsequent commit.
* Fixed spelling of serialiseHalfParsedText() and unserialiseHalfParsedText(), there is unavoidable interface breakage anyway, due to cache object versioning.
* Moved transparent tags to their own function, as requested in a fixme comment.
* Added documentation for markerSkipCallback().
* Removed OnlyIncludeReplacer, unused since MW 1.12.
* Removed other usages of $wgUser in Parser stuff, as stated in doc
* Added mechanism to get an User object in Parser, based either on the object given in Paser::preSaveTransform() or the ParserOptions otherwise
